There has been a look of talk along the Outer Banks this Winter about the possibility of a record year for tourism due to ongoing repairs from Superstorm Sandy.  Most rental agents we have spoken with seem to think things are on pace for a good year but no one has come out to say it will be a record year.

It seems rentals have been up since the New Year.  If this continues it should lead to the prime weeks booking earlier than usual.  Once the busiest weeks are filled the extra demand should lead to higher occupancy rates during the off-peak and shoulder season.

Looking at all the factors it seems like it is going to be a strong season for the Outer Banks.  It might be a good time to look into investing in an Outer Banks vacation home.
