The charming Village of Duck has always been a “must visit” location for vacationers. Also, there are Beach Vacation Rental Homes in Duck and many home buyers chose Duck for the reason of how popular it is who get to experience that charm, too. Both owners of properties in Duck and Vacationers arrive for the wonderful restaurants and quaint “Mom & Pop” specialty retail and gift shops dotted around the “heart” of the village area of Duck.

Within the past several years the well managed Town of Duck made a fantastic decision to add a Sound Front Boardwalk that connects many of the shops, restaurants, the Town Park and some businesses. This means an enjoyable stroll literally on top of the marshy sound front as a “nature walk” choice to navigate one’s desire to visit much of what Duck offers.

The “magic” from this is one will see the Great Blue Heron, other water birds and fowl, turtles, otters and even drop their crab pot to secure dinner on their way! Along your walk you will surely bump into folks walking their 4-legged family members, stop and chat or sit on one of the many benches for weary legs or a chance to just take it all in.

Whether it is morning coffee, lunch, securing an OBX T-Shirt for a friend, buying local art or getting a sunset dinner, the Boardwalk in Duck Village on the beautiful Currituck Sound will leave you breathless with comforting joy from natural scenery that movies are made from! The early evenings, as a “cherry on top”, show off the wonderous sunsets only the water views of the OBX can offer, too.

If you are looking to gain that extra experience to be added to where you decide to buy an Outer Banks Beach Home, or vacation here in the OBX this ingredient of an inviting boardwalk enveloped in nature, right besides some of the best shops and restaurants here, you will be enhancing your time spent in the Outer Banks by experiencing this beautiful boardwalk.
