Making a spur of the moment decision to walk the beach one evening, I thought my eyes were deceiving me.  Was that really a helicopter on the beach?  The number of tow trucks passing me as I walked towards the object convinced me that yes a helicopter had landed on the beach.

As I watched the pilots inspecting the engine, I asked one of the tow truck drivers what happened.  He said they lost engine power and were coming in over the pier targeting the beach to make an emergency landing.  They had actually landed in the surf and were able to get the helicopter a little further up on the beach.  However with high tide approaching, they needed to be out of the water's reach.  A bystander called a local towing company which pulled the helicopter up closer to dune line.  The drive said they had expensive computer and camera equipment aboard.  I asked what they were doing out here and he replied, "I thinking they are looking for real estate!

So needless to say I took the opportunity to introduce myself as an agent and would be available if they needed any help.  After a few minutes of chatting, I let them return their focus to the helicopter.  I did not have my card but I did remember the name of the company the pilot was wearing on his polo shirt.  When I got home, I found their website, selected the "contact us" option and sent an email.

About 11:00 pm, the pilot emailed me that they were safe and took precautionary safety measures of landing on the beach and that they would be in touch about the real estate.  I sent an email directly back - contact made!  So you just never know when opportunity will land your way.
