One of the highlights of the Christmas season on the Outer Banks is the usually still mild weather and plenty of good family fun during the entire month of December.  This Friday and Saturday, December 6th and 7th, are the annual Town of Manteo Christmas Tree Lighting & Parade.

Everything kicks off Friday night at 6pm with the Grand Illumination.  This takes place in front of the historic Manteo courthouse on Queen Elizabeth street.  Downtown Manteo transforms into a holiday production for all ages.  Many performances will be taking place from local performers including the Manteo and First Flight Choirs leading up to the appearance of Santa Claus.

Saturday morning activities kick-off at 10am with pre-parade festivities.  The Big Little Town Christmas Parade starts at 10:30am at Manteo High School.  After the parade stop and get your picture takes with Santa.

No matter if your big or small, this weekend will be a fun way to kick-off the holiday season on the Outer Banks.
