June continued a trend of improving months for real estate in the Outer Banks.  We continue to see a number of homes sold and go under contract.  With what appears to be a strong rental season, we hopefully will see the market to continue to improve right into Fall and Winter. 

 

June Outer Banks Market Highlights

  • 3rd straight month with over 150 real estate closings
  • 4th straight month with over 100 homes closing
  • Foreclosed Outer Banks homes accounted for 32% of home closings
  • Homes under $400,000 continue to be the hottest segment of the market

There was a quick mention of the Outer Banks on, Island paradises are closer than you think. 

     With adjacent seas nicknamed the Graveyard of the Atlantic, the Outer Banks are home to rough waters that are often more ideal for surfing than swimming. Nancy Schretter, managing editor of the travel website Family Travel Network, recommends Hatteras Island, along the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, for "its miles and miles of pristine beaches with very white sand and rolling dunes." Hatteras visitors can bring dogs on the beach, a bonus for travelers who want to vacation with their pets.
