There is a section of the OBX that the locals and Realtors here know as "Between the Highways". There are 2 Main Roads in Kitty Hawk, through Kill Devil Hills into Nags Head. They are HWY 12 (a 35 MPH, 2 lane road) and HWY 158 (4 Lanes, with center turning lane). All of this area, north to south, is close to the ocean therefore makes it a very good location for an investment vacation rental home purchase or a 2nd home as long as you understand there may be a fair amount of rental homes surrounding you. There is a fine balance of price points available, which include nostalgic, little beach boxes all the way up to larger 5 to 6 BR amenity full homes. Kill Devil Hills happens to have the higher density of shops, restaurants and many businesses creating conveniences for visitors, vacationers and home owners.
