Surfing For Autism is an autism/asperger’s awareness event August 14th on the Outer Banks of NC. Local surfers are partnering up with children who have autism/asperger’s and introduce them to paddling, surfing, and a new way to have fun in the sun. Check the Autism Society of NC’s website to learn more about autism, the importance of early intervention, parental support, and the latest research concerning this wide-spread disorder.
The local OBX Chapter of the NC Autism Society meets regularly, providing support to caregivers and educators, and promoting autism education throughout the community. Visit their website to find out how to become more involved locally.

When: 9:00am-12:00pm – Surf Appointments (received
after your registration) & Beach Activities
12:00pm-Until Surfers Pass Out – If you’re child enjoys their scheduled
surf experience, after 12pm they have an opportunity to surf some more!
