Simple steps and being aware help keep you safe in the water.
A particular hazard along the ocean is the possibilityof rip currents. There is an excellent resource available by the EENA Project, that explains, what is a rip current? Living in Kill Devil Hills, I think Run Hill is one of the most beautiful locations in the entire town. Its secluded location keeps total number of visitors down, it is a great place to enjoy the Outer Banks as it was before people came. If you get there early in the morning it often is possible to see some of the beautiful wildlife that makes Run Hill home.
