Come on out on October 23rd and enjoy a run through the beautiful Lost Colony in Manteo.  This event is being held by the Outer Banks Running Club.

the-colony-lost-and-found-5k How would you like to run through the same land where The Lost Colony once roamed? This inaugural event is a 5K cross-country course which traverses through the same spot which Chief Manteo and Chief Wanchese once inhabited. How will you fare?

This course will take you through The Lost Colony, Fort Raleigh and the woods of Roanoke Island, returning on our ‘new’ bike path.

The post race party includes refreshments. Don’t forget your cameras as you will have a chance to take your picture with Sir Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth. Music will be provided by Outer Banks DJ services.

If you are looking for excellent veterinarian care on the Outer Banks, I recommend speaking with Dr. Jay Taylor at the Outer Banks Veterinarian Hospital.  The Outer Banks Vet Hospital is located at 3723 North Croatan Highway in Kitty Hawk.  You can reach Dr. Jay Taylor at 252-715-1407

Dr. Taylor provides excellent care for all pets.  For routine appointments to emergencies, your pet is in excellent hands.

(For full disclosure:  Dr. Taylor is a friend of the author.  He comes highly recommended due to his excellent care for both my dogs.  I have 1 dog in particular, a 6 year old American Pit Bull Terrier who suffers from canine epilepsy, that Dr. Taylor has twice been able to save.  That above all drives my recommendation.)
